Question:
Are there fines and penalties for overdue, lost or damaged items?

Yes, there are penalties for long overdue, lost and damaged items.

A $10 penalty fee will be charged for each item returned to the library 24 days or more after the due date.

If you lose or damage an item, you will be charged the item’s replacement cost, plus GST, and a $10 processing fee.

You will not be able to borrow from the library until all items are returned, paid for or replaced.

TAFE NSW statements, certificates or diplomas, result notices or employer reports will not be issued, or available for online viewing, until all items are returned and/or fees are paid.

In special circumstances, customers may lodge an appeal.

Please speak to a member of staff for more information.

If your TAFE Library shares premises with a school, university or public library, please call the library to check local overdue and fine policies.
