Question:
What is a database?

A database is a searchable collection of digital resources. Most library databases include things like:

  • journal articles
  • eBooks
  • reference works (encyclopedias, dictionaries, timelines, biographies etc.)
  • online videos
  • magazine articles
  • newspaper articles
  • Standards.

Some databases focus on a specific area (e.g. nursing), while others cover a wide variety of topics.

Databases are a great place to find reliable, high-quality information for your assessments.

Most of the information in our databases cannot be found by searching the internet (e.g. with Google), as access has been paid for by TAFE NSW.

To access the library’s databases please visit the eResources page of the TAFE NSW Library Catalogue.
